BOGO No No

I love how Payless shoes started promoting the term "BOGO" and now I see it everywhere.

But, I have to admit, I find the term a little misleading. After all, it isn't "Buy One Get One." It is really "Buy One Get One Half Off."

You know, BOGOHO.

  1. I agree that I have always found that misleading, however, I never pursued it to that end.

  2. I think they should just switch the whole promotion to simply "Buy One Get One" free, just to avoid the controversy.

  3. The whole "BOGO" thing always annoyed me. I like your term a lot better :)

  4. LOL. Suddenly it all makes so much more sense.

  5. In Australia, retailers have to advertise as "Buy One, Get One Free" or something more clear, like "second pair half price".

I got really confused with the ETSY BOGO weekend sale, because I automatically assumed it was BOGOF, but it was more like BOGAS - Buy One, get a sample - or like you said, Buy One, get another for 20% off! Ridiculous!
